Marc Paterson and Mark Angel form the core of Austin. Despite having a world of genre definitions at their fingertips they find it hard to categorise their sound. A shared love of pop and rock honed with a poetic sensibility have influenced their music.

On their debut EP Hyenas they have been fortunate to include the talents of Brittany Strong, Grace Marcroft and Olivia Stephens who each bring their own vision to the songs.

Austin are based in Palmerston North in sleepy provincial New Zealand - an ideal place from which to watch the world wander past.
